West Tampa Dog Park Tampa, Florida

The west side dog park is brand new and beautiful.  You really can't grasp the size of this area by pictures alone.  There are gazebo shelter areas for humans to sit while their dogs run and play.  There are plentiful scoop bags and receptacles, as well as water fountains for both the 2 legged and the 4 legged.  What's that?  Yes, porta-potti facilities are available, because...well, the hydrant or tree may not work for you.  There's a great playground area next door for the kids, too.

Small or large?  The only decision you need to make is on which side does your dog(s) belong.  Two entrances mean less problems entering the park, lest your 15 pound maltese get squished by 200 pounds of mastiff...

This is the large dog run area...or at least half of it.  Not only is this area suitable for a good number of large dogs, but this big area could probably support a couple horses and a rescued cow or two.  Note again...table, shade, water.  Comfy.

First, we have rules... Aggressive?  Dangerous?  Sorry, please see your trusted animal behaviorist for solutions.  Female in heat?  The spay/neuter clinic is a phone call away.  Make that call, then bring her in to play.  Deviations may bring penalties...

This is the small dog area.  Yes, it's huge.  Note the nice area for the 2-legged animals.  Table, shade, water fountains...what else could you want?  Ah, yes...porta-pottie facilities are available, too.

Everyone has a place to play at the West Tampa dog park.  The youngsters (and the young at heart) can play here, at the playground right next door to the dog park. Psst...see the trash barrel in the foreground? Please be sure to use it.  Thanks.

A lot of thought went into designing this dog park.  Not only did they take your dog into consideration, but they also figured that if it were convenient and comfortable, more folks would use it.

A nice view that shows the sheer size of the left half of the large dog run area.  Trees provide shade for the canines and homes for the wildlife here at the park.

Yes, a "time-out" area for those dogs with behavior issues.  It's a great idea, a lot easier than leashing, and much better than just up and leaving if Fido gets into a little scuffle over that poodle with the sexy groomer's hairdo.
