Voice of Compassion For Animal Life, Inc. (VOCAL), is a non-profit organization that believes in the advancement of the rights of all animals. Our particular, immediate agenda pertains to issues relating to companion, domestic animals. We seek to ensure their compassionate treatment and safety. To meet this initiative: We will support and assist various animal organizations or individuals in the sheltering, rehabilitation, transport or other liberation of animals in need; We will enlighten the public as to the benefits of adopting a companion animal as opposed to purchasing an animal from a breeder or pet store; We will educate the public on topics regarding responsible companion animal guardianship; We will promote an aggressive spay/neuter campaign; We will campaign against the cosmetic alteration of animals, including (but not limited to) ear cropping, tail docking, feline declawing, canine debarking, and various other mutilations; We will open and operate a sanctuary for abused, neglected, unwanted and discarded animals for their rehabilitation and future adoption into a new Forever Home, or to act as a Forever Home if an animal is not adopted or is unable to be adopted out ("unadoptable"). VOCAL also seeks to promote a cruelty-free lifestyle and to end the exploitation and abuse of all animals. To meet this initiative: We will promote a cruelty-free lifestyle, in that animals are not ours to eat, to wear, to experiment on, to force to entertain us, or to otherwise exploit, mistreat or dispose of. We will promote legislation that protects the interests, rights and general welfare of all animals; We will investigate and eradicate the mistreatment and/or abuse of any animal; We will support and assist other animal rights and animal welfare organizations with their specific agendas, so long as those agendas do not directly conflict with any belief held by VOCAL. We will be VOCAL, truly speaking for those that cannot speak for themselves. |
