Welcome to our pets page. Here, we hope to help people make good, responsible decisions on bringing a companion animal into their families.
There are many unfortunate and incorrect rumors about mixing companion animals and "animal rights" folks or groups. Fact is, individuals lacking compassion for animals, or animals other than pets (dogs, cats, etc.), would have people believe that animal rights and animal welfare groups support an agenda that would abolish companion animals altogether ("let them die out"). This is completely false. VOCAL's mission is to end the mistreatment and exploitation of companion animals, as well as all other animals. Therefore, we submit to you information that we hope you will use to bring a wonderful animal into your life.
We understand that not everyone will take the compassionate step of adopting an animal, and will still purchase a pet from a petstore or breeder. For those individuals, we seek to inform you of the things you need to know and the questions you need to ask. Before heading to a breeder or petstore, we hope you will carefully reconsider the decision to buy as opposed to the decision to adopt, and we insist you educate yourselves as to the local laws and statutes that are designed to not only protect you, but the pet you may buy. Please see the links to the left that will lead you to our information pages.
We want to give you the information that other's fail to. VOCAL will always be for the animals first and foremost. Our beliefs, as well as our silence, cannot be bought. |
